Accompanied by her mother, she sold girl scout cookies to customers emerging from a medical marijuana dispensary in San Fransisco.
The story generated national attention-and a morality debate. One thing was undebatable if predictable: She struck the motherlode of people jonesing for a snack.
While some questioned weather this was the proper commerce of a Girl Scout, not to mention objecting to her mother’s participation, it’s now clear that she was ahead of her time.
Fast-food giants will be joined by a litany of businesses big and small aiming to cash-in on the whims and appetites of California pot smokers.
Marijuana tourism will be the next big thing for California.
Last year entrepreneur.com published a story titled “9 Business Ideas For People Looking To Cash-In On The Marijuana Boom”, offering examples from Colorado.
Cannabis friendly bed and breakfasts top the list. This is most likely from the result of hotels not offering cannabis smoking areas on hotel property, due to most state regulations.
Other suggested businesses: delivery service, cannabis infused edibles, cannabis infused catering, marijuana marketing, and a resurgence in paraphernalia.
