Drug Enforcement Administration rejects attempt to loosen federal restrictions on marijuana, as of August 11, 2016.
Marijuana will remain a Schedule I drug. For months, the marijuana industry had hoped that the DEA would reschedule marijuana from its current status of schedule I to Schedule II.
The DEA decided not to reschedule the classification of marijuana as a legal drug. Cannabis is still as deadly and addictive as heroin.
The DEA is in charge of both writing the law and enforcing it, they’re going to keep things the same, no matter what 25 states in America want.
The DEA is a law enforcement organization and the federal government does not know what’s best.
Why is the DEA biased?
Why would the DEA reverse their position on marijuana? That would mean for the past 45 years, they’ve been prosecuting American citizens unjustly, ruining lives, and for what?
Lets look at the facts.
If you really want to rebuild the USA economy and create new jobs, then we need a new industry.
On a national level, there are approximately 21,000 to 33,000 businesses in the U.S. that are tied to the marijuana industry, and that number will increase when more states legalize.
If the DEA won’t step aside, we’ll just have to make them obsolete. Americans are not equal. Some Americans can grow marijuana in their back yards, and some Americans go to jail for doing the same thing. How long will the hypocrisy continue? Step one starts at the state level. Step two starts with showing the DEA that We the People are the boss.
There are over 20 states that have legalized medical marijuana, and marijuana will be on the ballot in 14 states this November. We need to keep the momentum going and force the federal government to take action and legalize it nationally.
